Our Triune God
As Christians, we know that we serve a triune God, one God in three persons. In scripture found in Matthew 28:18-20 we read,”And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’” Matthew reveals both a commissioning and a promise. We are commissioned by Christ our Savior to go and share the message of salvation in all corners of this great earth and we are promised by Christ that He is with us always. This is such a powerful message for us to remember every day of our lives…as we prepare to move into new surroundings of which we are unsure or as we approach situations that are completely foreign to us…journeys where we have never gone before, how comforting it is to know that Christ goes before us and is with us ALWAYS! As my daughter, Shelley, has just traveled to Guatemala on a mission trip to Hope of Life in Zacapa, a Christian service to reach out to those suffering and to work to save them in their physical life of extreme poverty as well as to share the love of our Christ Jesus, this scripture is on my heart. Where do you find yourself venturing toward uncertain territory? God’s Holy Spirit is with you as a believer whether you are aware of it or not. But if you raise your awareness and call out to our Holy Comforter, He will comfort you like no other comfort in this world. Praise God from Whom ALL blessings...
